Runtown’s music is a unique blend of Afrobeats, hip-hop, R&B, and reggae. He rose to prominence in 2014 with his hit single "Gallardo", featuring Davido. The track earned him widespread recognition in the Nigerian music scene.

In 2016, Runtown solidified his position with the massive hit "Mad Over You", a song that became a continental anthem and was later remixed by Mr Eazi. The song is part of his debut studio album Soundgod Fest Vol. 1 and peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Twitter Top Tracks chart.
